What the result includes and excludes
Service scope and use
This tool provides arithmetic comparisons and personal records from your inputs. It does not sell products, process payments, arrange delivery, installation or repairs, diagnose safety, verify warranties or predict lifespan. Check actual charges, safety and warranty terms using your bills, agreements and manuals. If a fault or safety problem is suspected, do not use a cost result to decide whether to keep using an appliance.
Appliance passports, expenses and tasks are stored in this browser when you save them. The app does not collect addresses, contact details or receipt photos. Verify warranty dates and care intervals yourself. Calendar files and backups include entered nicknames and records; share them carefully. The site does not send notifications.
Advertising, affiliate links and payments are not enabled. Analytics is opt-in. Installed use requires connectivity; personal record pages are not cached offline. Manage exported backups and calendar events separately.
Total cost formula
Total = purchase + delivery/installation/removal + monthly kWh × unit rate × months per year × years + annual repairs × years − final resale proceeds.
Resale is deducted once at the end. Financing, inflation and discounting are excluded. Use and maintenance costs are assumed to repeat each year.
Maximum price for the new unit
Subtract all of B's costs other than its price from A's total. B's price must be at or below that threshold to match or beat A. A negative threshold means B's other costs alone are higher.
When energy use is unknown
If either energy value is unknown, compare purchase plus installation only. We do not present a total that silently assumes electricity is free. Watts and kWh are different units.
The variation range is not a probability
At ±30%, each unit's energy use ranges from 70% to 130% of the entered value. An advantage is robust only if one maximum total is below the other minimum. This does not cover price or repair uncertainty.
Unit rates versus actual bills
The example rate is not an official tariff. Tiered charges, other appliances, standing charges and taxes are excluded. Both options use the same comparison rate.
Storage and privacy
Repair and replacement comparison inputs are saved in this browser, separately by currency, when you press Save. Appliance backups do not include these comparison inputs or monthly bill records. Back up monthly records separately on their page.
Buying inputs and snapshots, energy and bill records, appliance lists, business assumptions and settlement records, and language/currency preferences are stored in this browser. Snapshots and energy records are saved on request; other calculator edits are saved automatically. Calculation inputs are not sent to our server or synced across devices. Delete records on their pages or remove all site data below. Energy records support backup and import; keep your backup file safe.
Google Analytics is used with permission. Automatic language detection runs only on the first root visit; explicit URL language and saved choices take precedence. No external translation or geolocation API is used. The host may process access logs. See Privacy information for details.
Regional scope
Buying comparisons and the energy journal support 12 languages. This guide, the home planner and the business page support Korean and English. Changing currency does not convert amounts; records are separated by currency. Local tariffs, taxes, warranty and installation rules are not calculated automatically. Compare tax-inclusive quotes and energy rates in the same currency.
On shared devices, delete your records after use. Clearing browser data or changing devices can lose saved values. Weather, occupancy and billing periods affect usage changes, so the journal does not prove or guarantee savings.
This is the simple cost model described above, not a manufacturer's recommendation or an official electricity bill calculator.
