What a used AC price can leave out
Compare these five points on the same basis before entering your quotes.
1. Separate installation, delivery and removal
Check whether basic installation is included and whether extra piping or on-site work costs more. Avoid counting costs already included in a quote. Ask a local installer to confirm suitability and the scope of work.
2. Will both units cool the same space?
Check cooling capacity and indoor/outdoor unit compatibility. A small-room unit and a living-room unit are not equivalent. This calculator does not assess installation suitability or performance.
3. Do not infer energy use from the rating alone
Use comparable monthly consumption or measurements. Hours, temperatures and settings matter. If unknown, select the unknown-energy option to compare purchase and installation costs only.
4. Check warranty and repair risk separately
Ask about warranty scope, remaining coverage and operating condition. Zero repairs means repairs are not included, not that failure is impossible. Change the repair allowance to test the conclusion.
5. Include ownership period and seasonality
Three months of annual use differs from twelve. Include known relocation or disposal charges. Future resale proceeds are an assumption, not guaranteed income.
A: KRW 250,000 purchase + 200,000 installation + 120 kWh × KRW 200 × 3 months/year × 3 years = KRW 666,000.
B: KRW 650,000 purchase + 50,000 installation + 70 kWh × KRW 200 × 3 months/year × 3 years = KRW 826,000.
With repairs and resale both excluded, A costs KRW 160,000 less. These are not market prices or product measurements.
