Estimate monthly and annual electricity from a label value per cycle or a full-cycle measurement.
Check the label denominator
Divide a value per 100 cycles by 100 before entering kWh per cycle. Do not enter annual kWh as a single cycle. Programme, load and inlet-water temperature affect comparability.
Standby and water use
This tool sums the entered cycle energy. Account for separately measured standby elsewhere. Water, detergent and salt can be entered as maintenance costs in the ownership tool.
Illustrative arithmetic
0.8 kWh/cycle × 25 cycles/month × 12 months = 240 kWh/year. At an assumed 0.2 currency units/kWh, the annual cost is 48 currency units. This is a hypothetical example.
Eco programmes and duration
A longer programme does not necessarily use more electricity. Compare kWh measured over equivalent boundaries rather than duration alone.
