Gaming PC electricity cost calculator — measured power

Calculate with your own usage

No local tariff is supplied. Enter a rate from your bill or contract in the selected currency. This flat-rate estimate does not separately model tiers, time-of-use rates, standing charges or taxes.

Formula reviewed: 2026-09-19 · Inputs: your measurements or product labels, not an official tariff database.

A power supply rating is not actual electricity consumption. Use wall-meter measurements that reflect gaming, idle and work periods.

Use a consistent equipment boundary

A tower-only measurement excludes monitors and speakers. If you measure the whole power strip, do not add those peripherals again.

How can I separate gaming and idle time?

Calculate energy for each mode with its own average power and operating hours, then add the energy values. Do not apply peak gaming power to idle hours.

Illustrative calculation

350 average watts × 4 hours/day × 25 days/month × 12 months/year = 420 kWh/year. At 0.2 currency units/kWh this is 84 currency units/year. This is not a component or game benchmark.

Include upgrade costs

Lower electricity use may not recover the purchase price of new hardware. Compare extra purchase cost and ownership period in the buying tool, and avoid ranking devices of different capability on cost alone.
